Dr. Chopin has a strong  expertise in  inorganic nanoparticles portfolio development and research management, acquired over the course of more than 20 years of experience at Rhodia  and Lhoist. His background is based on inorganic synthesis and process. He has  worked  on many different technologies ( alumina, silica, titanium oxides,  sodium and calcium oxides , rare-earth  compounds …)  and had developed many of them as nanoparticles. He  is author of more than 25 patents  based  on  inorganic  product  for different  applications  (catalysis, pigments, cosmetic , photocatalysis…) with many successes in terms of  industrial development. He is the head of Corporate RD at Lhoist  since  mid-2006 and based in Bruxelles .

Thierry holds a Doctor of Sciences (Physics-Chemistry) from L’Université de Haute Alsace and an MBA from INSEAD-CEDEP.
